Pediatric ICU:
The Experienced PICU team is exclusively trained in Pediatric Intensive Care and work closely with the Emergency team thus ensuring early critical care is provided during the “Golden Period”. The PICU team is ably supported by other multi-specialty teams to provide care for critically ill as well as post-operative pediatric patients, including patients following cardiothoracic surgeries, neuro-surgical, urological and orthopedic/multi-system trauma. The four bedded PICU is equipped with latest multimodal monitors which can monitor both non-invasive (heart rate, respiratory rate, ECG, BP, pulse oximetry, capnometry) and invasive monitoring lie arterial blood pressure, central venous pressure, abdominal pressure and other various parameters of patients.
Treatments provided in PICU include:
- Asthma, pneumonia and respiratory illness
- Cerebral palsy, convulsions, hemorrhages and cerebral fever
- Hemolytic anemia care
- High risk post-operative monitoring and immediate treatment of complications
- Pediatric surgical care (intussusceptions, intestinal obstruction, appendicitis)
- Pediatric trauma and pediatric surgical and pediatric neurosurgical care (brain trauma, ich, hydrocephalus)
- Severe acute malnutrition care
- Swelling on kidney, facilitating dialysis, treatment of vaccine in urine
- Treatment of accidental injury
